Updating My Blog

So since the last time I posted, I’ve added this nifty widget-ready Wordpress theme. I think it’ll work for now. I like the clean design, so hopefully when I get a lot of content and pictures up on here, the design won’t detract from the blog. If any of you out there are just starting out your own blog like me, I have a few words of advice from my own experiences.

After you install your Wordpress, make sure to install all the plugins that you’re going to need. I’d recommend at the very least before you begin posting, to get your Wordpress.com API key for Akismet to help control spam, generate your crawlpage.html file and activate the plugin, create your Google sitemap, and set up your database backup.

There are so many plugins available, some you may eventually need if you plan to optimize and monitize your blog, and others that will just help make it look pretty. But the ones I’ve listed above will help organize the infrastructure of the blog. Now I just have to figure out how to make money. Time to go visit John Chow… Hehehe…

a bullet point/checklist would be great to see so we can know what kind of progress you’re making!
