Tuesday Motivation
Aug 28th, 2007 by msdanielle
Seeing as how I’ve had less time to concentrate on my blog in the past few days, I thought I’d write a Tuesday Motivation post, inspired by my last Wednesday Motivation post that helped me focus on what I need to achieve to feel more motivated, and also help you guys feel motivated as well.
One of the main reasons I’ve been feeling unmotivated about this blog lately is because I’ve moved to part-time hours at my job and have been focusing on other site projects I have in the works. One of those projects is my pinkdeals site that I’m working to revamp with Gary.
Others have also been feeling unmotivated lately too, as I’ve seen from Michael Kwan and Bob Buskirk, among others. So, let’s get our engines running, and get motivated!
Here’s how it works:
Step 1: Create a list for us of what you plan to get done today.
Step 2: Put it in the comments section below or post it on your blog site.
Step 3: Let us know what will motivate you to get these things done. (A reward, consequences, or whatever you need to think that will ensure you do what you say you are going to do.)
My Goals for Today:
- Outline next-steps for pinkdeals and make appropriate contacts
- Negotiate 1 - 3 link building tactics for another project site
- If I make it to the golf range, try to fix one bad habit
There isn’t much I can do relating to my personal sites since I’m working in LA today, so I will do what I can. It’s all in my head anyway. According to Bob, I’m supposed to be eating well, exercising, and getting good sleep. I have the first of the three dialed in, now I just have to sleep and exercise… It seems so simple. If I get my short list done today, I will let myself sleep in tomorrow until 9am.
OK guys, what do you all plan to do today?

I am motivated these days, just that there is a “de” added before motivated comes..
I was thinking of what do then I see this post. Thank you, I recently noted something about your blog the other day. I will be publishing the post sometime tomorrow or so.
hey anand! i’m glad you found some value in this post.
i think a combination of working on other projects, being in transition, and it being the tail end of summer make it difficult for me to be self motivated with my blog.
i’ve left you a comment, thanks for the post. i hope your readers will give you some good feedback on your inquiry.
Hmm … tomorrow I head off to the immigration office in Nagoya to pick up a $40 piece of paper that will expedite my visa application by a factor of ten.
It’s a shame we can’t package and sell motivation
Have you tried the GTD system? Worked for me.. I was sooo unmotivated and unorganized before!

John Chow makes over $11,000 a month from his blog. If we could find a way to do that, I’m sure we wouldn’t need to find a reason to be motivated
This certainly works if money is your key motivator, but what if it’s not? Earning $11K a month would certainly be enjoyable for the first month or two, but it’s pretty hard to keep a consistent revenue stream from such a diverse and transient audience.
carl, i tip my hat to you if you achieve these earnings. i would like to think i could make $11k with this blog every month, but in reality, i won’t. it was never my plan. it would be very hard to achieve this, especially with my mind on so many other things. i wish everyone the best who is making money through blogging
Carl - You got it! Money will definitely motivate!
That’s an awesome cartoon you included Danielle. It’s all too true.
In terms of what I want to accomplish today, it’s mostly work-related (get a couple projects done), but I’d like to get out there and enjoy some of that summer sun today too.
yea i google’d “motivation” in images and it was one of the first ones.
did you get some sun today?
1. I’m getting a haircut today.. done.
2. I have phonecalls to make.. done. waiting for them to call me back.
3. I need to open up a new RBC bank account… will do that as soon as I’m done here.
4. Install xmldom class on the PHP configuration on TTZ Media’s Adserver for the catalog development..
5. Program the catalog.. at least partially.
6. Say Hi to Danielle… HI DANIELLE!!! - DONE.
Got all but #3 done - decided I don’t need the RBC banking acct - international transfers can be done in other easier ways.
HI JEFF!!
5 out of 6 is no small feat. great job! i only got 2/3… i suck but that’s why i’m not The Ambitious…
You suck? can you elaborate…?
Nice cartoon that fits well with the topic! I have so much to do its not even funny. I got back from school last night at 10pm so I am totally exhausted, but heres some stuff I need to get done.
1) Update Blog Theme - DONE
2) Wash My Car - DONE
3) Educate Myself by watching 5 videos and reading 180 pages of text…working on it!
ooh, car wash was on my last list. i need to get another one…
i like your theme, too. my blog is WAY over due for a theme update… hope you got all your studies done!
Im glad you like the theme update. The theme is still the same but there was a major organization change that needed to take place on the sidebars to clean up the mess I originally had going. Either way, the theme has completely been updated last night and so far the response has been good. The car wash went well too considering that I wash it myself as I dont trust other hands on my car! lol.. As far as studies, I got most of it done so Im proud!
i wasn’t able to negotiate any link deals, but i did get to number 1 and 3. i created a new site layout for pinkdeals which i’ll be implementing in phases and i was able to correct my hips during my down-swing. yay! it pretty much consisted of Gary yelling “turn now!!” when my club was at the top of my back swing.
so i suppose i’ll be dragging my butt out of bed at 8:00 tomorrow…
That cartoon is funny.
And too true..
haha nice post! back again!
