The Search is Over… I Can Die Happy Now

My good friend Jim has rescued me from my painful agony. You guessed it…he found the shoes! Woohoo! Even though I was determined to scour the earth until I found them, Jim apparently has some connections and called up the President of Keds (!), even clarifying to him that no, I couldn’t settle for the similar, but not-as-cool blue “new owls” that he recommended to Jim. Really, the blue ones are cute but just aren’t as cool as the black owls… And on a side note, Gary has rescinded his promise to buy me a carne asada burrito for anyone who found them for me, since Jim “didn’t find them online.” But with the $20 I’ve saved I can buy four of them myself! :)

Thanks go to:

  • Jon Lee who spent 30 minutes looking, only to end up at Zappos.
  • Bobs who subsequently spent 20 minutes and ended up at the same place, noting that even eBay didn’t have them.
  • Danny Dang who inquired twice at a local shop in Canada. They only had the blue owls.
  • Francisco Diez who posted about it, letting his readers know about my search!
  • Ray who came so close and passed me a link to Shoes.com but they didn’t have my size.

Here’s a photo of my happy feet! Thanks again, Jim!

Check out Eleanor Grosch’s blog here. She’s the designer of the shoe, and her blog is pretty rad.

Congratulations! I don’t think I’ll ever understand a girl’s fascination with shoes but I reckon it’s like getting a new PDA or something. So congrats!!

Wait, I’m confused, according to the picture the shoe is the happy one. Was it on a search for you as well? ;)

i heard that if someone gives shoes as a gift they are suppose to put some money along with it….i guess he forgot to put a dollar at least in with it…stupid guy haha

for those that don’t know the whole put a dollar in a shoe when giving footwear as a gift….it is meant so that the person receiving the shoes won’t run away

so don’t run away danielle ;D

You are a very lucky girl. I have been looking for these for my daughter for her birthday in a size 9 and can’t find them anywhere online or other. I wish I had your connections! Congrats!
