The Faces I See Part II: Spreading Some Link Love
Apr 22nd, 2007 by msdanielle
Awhile back, I created a speed-linking post pointing out some interesting blogs I found from people surfing my site in MyBlogLog. There are some faces that I see visiting here regularly, and it’s not until the weekends where I actually have a good amount of time to really check them out. This speed-linking is a great exercise for me as well because it helps me get to know my readers a little better too. And make our blog family just a little bit closer.
So here’s my Part II to The Faces I See.
Every now and then I’ll see Dan from the Wrong Advices here on MsDanielle. I noticed today that he redid his site. It looks great, Dan! And the layout of the posts sort of reminds me of Search Engine Roundtable, which I think is an added plus!
I see this little guy on my blog pretty often. The icon belongs to Ed Lau at the.[ED]ition. Ed’s blog is great and I always get a chuckle out of something on his site. Like the cracker that broke Brent Sopel, or the endangered Easter bunnies.
This pretty lady is Julie from Julie’s Journal. She’s a meme expert, and has a knack for getting lots of people to leave comments on her question posts. There’s something for everyone on Julie’s blog. And she’ll probably get you to participate in one of the memes. Check for yourself!
Have you seen this face on your blog in the last month? The answer is most likely yes. It’s my friend Kelly of KellyCho.com, who started her successfully popular blog only weeks ago. She’s a true blogger to the core, and she knows how to hustle her blog just like the rest of us. Just read her one-month status post as proof!
This is a face that I rarely see here at MsDanielle, but when I do, it makes me happy!
It’s Maki from DoshDosh. Maki knows his stuff when it comes to online marketing. I mean, where do I start? From monetization strategies to determining proper advertising rates to ways of becoming a niche authority, Maki pretty much covers all marketing strategies. His guides are so extensive I’m curious as to how he finds the time! If you have the time, read his blog!
I wanted to post more but I don’t have time right now. The point is, planting your face around the blogosphere via MyBlogLog is one of the best ways of letting others know you’re into their blog, and will usually get the author and other readers to click on your profile. My only advice is avoid using an image of a “hot chick,” a half-naked girl, or bouncing boobs. From a marketer’s perspective, it looks spammy, and readers will eventually figure out that you’ve duped them into checking out your totally unrelated blog. The only one I’ll forgive at this point is Ilker from the Thinking Blog.

Thanks for the link love chica!
Glad my little bunny girl avatar makes you happy, Danielle.. I feel the same when I see ‘pinkdeals’ showing up on my site.
A little belated.. but congrats on cracking the Technorati Top 100!
it feels kinda weird to be in the Top 100 faves (not to be confused at all with the other Top 100! LOL). thanks to you for starting the whole thing! but i am curious how you find the time… your guides are extremely useful and so well-researched. i think your blog is better than john chow’s in terms of site monetization and strategy. his is useful for gaming the systems you’re already using. plus his site goes off on too many tangents.
Happy Birthday Danielle! Heard you guys had a blast last night!
thanks!! there are a few hazy parts, but i double checked with everyone and i hear i had a great time! lol
i’ll prob do a write up next week when it’s closer to my bday. i had it yesterday bc some of my friends will be at coachella next week. if you haven’t been to J Lounge yet, you should check it out. maybe we can all catch a drink together sometime
Happy Birthday! Looked like a lot of fun
Hi thanks for adding my blog into technorati favourites and please feel free in visiting my blog. and i had added ur blog into my favorites
Thanks for the link!
I’ve considered changing my Bathing Ape x KAWS avatar but…it’s just so easy to see amongst the sea of actual pictures that I just haven’t bothered.
it’s totally unique, i think you should keep it for sure. whenever i see it, i think in my head, “hi ed!”
Happy Birthday too! *Grins. I was looking around, and I was chuckling at how many males ‘hate’ getting duped by the so-called female avatar when they aren’t female.
Cheers Danielle. You’re actually in my feed reader but I try to pop around from time to time just to make sure you know I’m still alive.
Happy belated bday!!
