My Two 2009 New Year’s Resolutions

Whenever January rolls around, I usually don’t involve myself in creating New Year’s resolutions, but this year something different happened. As I reflected on 2008 I came to a few realizations about how the year went (or actually flew by) and how I’d not achieved what I thought I would have during the 12-month span. I’m not yet independently wealthy ;) nor have I built the empire that I’d wanted to. So, with no further ado, here are my two New Year’s resolutions for 2009, as they both relate to internet marketing.

Be More Focused

I’ve mentioned a few times here on my blog that there’s a good chance I have ADD. I’m sure many of you can relate. However, it’s something that as I grow and learn more about internet marketing, can be very detrimental in the end. If untamed, your mind can constantly lead you to wander and waste time, forget important things, and under-perform during tasks. My goal of becoming more focused will help me absorb information more effectively, enrich the relationships I’ve created, and ultimately help me succeed in the goals I’ve set forth. Wait…what was I saying…?

Be a Better Risk-Taker

By nature, I’m a pretty cautious person, and caution can be harmful to achieving great success in personal internet projects, as the goal of most projects is scalability. Find something that works well and do a whole lot more of it! I want to be able to successfully guide a PPC campaignt that grosses $10k per month, just so I know I’ve acheived it. Even in a down economy, $10k per month in internet sales or CPAs is doable.

What are your resolutions, if you have any? Feel free to leave comments or links to your resolutions blog posts for everyone to read. Thanks!

Hi msdanielle. It’s been a while since I last visited your blog. It caught my eye while I was reading my Google reader.
My new year resolution is to become a good husband. That’s because I am getting married on 20 Jan 2009!
Of course, that’s not all. As I am working as an internet marketing executive for an MNC company, I am looking forward to bring in more focus towards my internet review hobby.
Happy new year to you!

hi msdanielle, so by targeting $10k gross monthly, what type of profitability margins are you aiming for? just wondering what’s realistic.

i would be stoked with a 50% gross margin. depending on the various campaigns of course, it’s all speculative numbers… but it’s totally do-able, and i’m so motivated that i would be disappointed if i didn’t reach it

Great goals. Mine are somewhat of the same. I’m glad to see you’re focusing on your blog more recently. It’s great to read your stuff. Sorry I missed you at ASW.

I just started reading your blog, looking forward to future posts!
My New Years resolutions are to become healthier and to make more friends. It’s really hard so far, but as of now I’ve made more progress with this year’s new years resolutions than any other year.
