My Ladies Found: An Update
Jun 26th, 2007 by msdanielle
When I started this blog three months ago, I posed the question, “Where My Ladies At?!”
Now that I’ve pretty much jumped feet first into this blog world, I’m realizing that there aren’t that many women up in here!
Maybe I was just eager and not knowing about where the female bloggers were at. Now that I’ve found a few of them, I make sure to check my RSS reader to see what’s going on in their worlds. I like knowing there are other women out there doing their thing and creating little communities all over the internet, and doing it successfully. That’s why I whole-heartedly support the female bloggers out there. We just want to play with the big dogs. That’s not too much to ask, now is it?
I’ve either recently found or been following a few female bloggers over the course of the last few months, and I’ve seen strong bloggers grow, and new bloggers enter the scene. I just wanted to give a shout out to the women out there who are creating great content for their readers and friends.
Jane May
If you read blogs regularly, most likely you’ve heard of Jane May somehow, by someone, somewhere. This amazing woman not only has the grace and the marketing savvy to build a great network, but she also has the brains to know when to cash in when the time is right. Jane May currently runs her personal blog on online marketing, but has recently sold the popular career development blog site, Career Ramblings, for a very, very large sum of money. Am I envious? Of course. But I’m also damn proud of her because she works very hard to achieve success, and I support her 150%. Congrats, Jane May, on all your successes to date, and to all your future successes to come!
Taylor Blue
Normally, I don’t usually read “mom blogs” because well, I have no kids. But for some reason when I crossed Taylor Blue’s blog, I completely related. I think it’s because she doesn’t focus just on “being a mom,” although you’d expect it by her tagline: Sharing everything mom by a Mom. She focuses on enjoying the simple pleasures of life — which is something that many of us forget to do on a regular basis. So without fail, I can open Taylor’s blog and find a new Picture of the Day. My favorite so far, her picture of her son sniffing a, well, it’s a weed — but she likes to let him think it’s a beautiful flower. And when you see the picture, I’m sure you’ll also believe it to be a rose. Check out the picture here. She also just had surgery yesterday, so feel free to drop by and send her well wishes.
Roberta Ferguson
Roberta Ferguson’s blog is a recent one that I’ve come across. The reason she struck me, as an individual, is because she was the first to guess correctly all of the faces in my Flashback Friday Volume 2 post. I thought, Whoa girlfriend! Where’d you come from?! LOL She nailed it, and since then I’ve been checking in on her blog to make sure she’s keeping up the work on her end too. She posted the article The Face Behind the Blog on Sunday, and I giggled at her commentary, “These photos are dark and really crappy, so you’ve been warned.” They’re really not, they’re very cute. And she’ll have you know that Drew Barrymore resembles her, and not the reverse. Keep up the good job, Roberta, and keep making those vital connections. I’m so glad I came across your blog!
Patricia Hannigan
Otherwise known as The Golf Girl, Patricia is awesome, and probably every man’s dream. She plays golf, and she’s amazingly gorgeous. Well she’s also very bright, as you can tell from her writing. She has a very natural style, and her blog is easy on the eyes. The pink, purple and green font colors create a nice color contrast too that’s attractive to both male and female readers. She tells great stories, and even left me a golf tip when I posted about my first golf lesson. She’s a force to be reckoned with on the golf course, and probably off the course as well since her “adventurous nature has gotten me in trouble on a number of occasions. Real trouble.”
Elaine Vigneault
I actually came across Elaine Vigneault’s blog a couple months ago, and I can’t remember how I found her. But I do remember her blog left a striking impression on me because she’s a seriously tell-em-like-it-is kind of woman — self described as “an amateur whiner, professional hippy, and fat vegetarian who graduated beauty school but dropped out of law school. I write about my dog, my poker player husband, and various emo shit.” You get the hippy feel when visiting her blog for the first time, which I can appreciate. You can read her interesting bio (number 1) here — you’ll see why she’s easily likeable. And we have one thing in common, we both can’t stay away from rescue animals.
Kelly Cho
Some of you may already know this, but Kelly Cho is actually a friend of mine who, after hearing me tout on about John Chow’s February 2007 earnings, decided to also start her own privately-hosted blog. She’s a true blogger’s blogger, though, converting from a free blog site to her own private WordPress blog in late March. I’m really proud of the fact that she’s kept her blog up and running strong, and created her own community very quickly. I wish her blog the best, and hope she makes lots of money from it this year!
So, this is where (some of) my ladies are at. I’ll most likely be doing these types of posts randomly the help encourage other women to continue their blogs ventures. We’re all here to support each other — I hope! — and I wish them all the successes they deserve.

Hi Ms Danielle,
Thanks for posting this list. I always wonder where all the female bloggers are too, so now I have some new ones to look at. I wonder how many are in the Technorati Top 5K? I might have to do a post about that…
Love your blog!
Shona (Rich Minx)
Hi, I am a newbie female blogger from Indonesia. U r right there. I too, only found a few female blogger on net, especially in Indonesia. Most of the bloggers in Indonesia are male, and they do it quiet well. I also wondering about where the female bloggers are, cos everytime I blog walking, all that I ever found is male, male and male… Is it true it’s a men’s world out there, even in the cyber world?
