My Epiphany About Networking: Revisited

Every person wonders what they’re best qualities and skills are so they can use them in their careers, yes? Well I guess I sort of had an epiphany recently that ties into this new quest for dominating blogging that I’ve jumped into. About a month ago, it hit me. I realized what I’m good at, and it all boiled down to…networking. Yep, networking. I remember the a-ha! moment when I realized that what I’m good at involves getting people together, making connections, and just going with it! I recall telling Gary at the time, “Hey, I need to find a job where I can just network!” I remembered this for some reason last night when I couldn’t fall asleep (thanks to daylight savings!).
Anyway, this truly ties into this concept of blog networking that I’ve been really trying to get a grasp of, and I guess this is why it popped into my head last night. If I can make substantial money through blogging, I’ll really be reaching my goal of making a living off of networking! (Hopefully…)
So, for you bloggers out there, are you good at networking? I think it just involves being a people person, knowing how to recognize someone who might be mutually beneficial to your network or shares your interests, and maintaining and fostering the ties to those in your existing circle. This carries over into the blogosphere with services like MyBlogLog, for example. If you don’t know what MyBlogLog is, just check out the “Recent Readers” box on the right of my page. Those are other bloggers that are reading my site. (Hi guys!) I can click on their images to say hi, and write something that I noticed or liked about their blogs. Hopefully they’ll do the same, and we’ll be able to exchange comments and ideas… You get the idea. No one knows about your blog or who you are unless you make connections with them – “network.”
Tomorrow night, Gary and I are going to hit up this networking thing that my friend is putting together here in LA. I’ll try to post some non-incriminating pictures here as soon as I can.

Networking? What’s that all about? I just talk to myself all day with different names and people think I’m popular!
I hope you don’t post up the pictures where i’m pretty much wasted. Oh wait, that’s all the pictures. I guess I’m not getting my face up on the site then! Maybe I’ll send you the picture of me and the hawaiian if she remembers who I am and sends me the picture we took!
If anything, that will make a lasting impression.
