Hi Danielle
I came to your website via Zac Johnson's website. I can commiserate with you over golf. I have been trying to perfect a golf swing for over forty years and still don't think I have got it right. As your post is several years old you probably are feeling a lot better about your swing now. Once you have built up enough muscle memory you will be able to concentrate more on where you want the ball to go than on how to swing the club. Once you reach that point you will begin to get more enjoyment out of it. After all it's a bit like learning to ride a bike - once you have mastered how not to fall off you are 90% there!

Hi Danielle,

I'm not into golf but my son likes it.

I'm looking for used golf clubs for my son, he's 6' 5" tall.

I looked at your featured website for used golf clubs but couldn't find anything for tall people.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

I found your blog after I read a nice post by Ouchs where he said you are one of the top 5 hot female bloggers. I think he might be right!

I like golf, too. It took me a while and I am still inconsistent. But it's so fun. I can hit straight most of the time but not much distance. The hardest part for me is getting the timing for the whole weight-shift-to-hit-from-the-hips thing, at least that's what I call it. When I get it the ball just jumps with very little effort in the arms.

I haven't been out in a while. Feeling the urge after reading your post.

i hit the ball but it doesn't really go very far. it makes this dinky "bink!" sounds... i hit a couple good ones but i think they were a fluke. but when i hit the good ones, my body felt aligned... but again, it was a fluke. i'm supposed to be taking it to the course in the not-so-distant future.
@goldy - gary says my back swing is pretty too :)
@shane - i agree, i need to work on my strengthening exercises.
thanks everyone for your feedback! my quest continues...

Years of off and on playing of golf and I have consistently gotten worse. My problem is also my down swing... supposedly my back swing is pretty.

brick by brick . . . i agree with Shane that it's a lot of strength training and muscle memory . . think about it . . that was your 3rd lesson . . . and you never practice between . . . so it'll take some time :)

Strength training is really good for a golf swing.

You don't need to go crazy with it, but it gives you a solid form and core that helps a lot with developing consistency. And consistency is the key to a great swing!

Hope that helps.

Golf is such a pain in the butt, but if you hit just one really sweet shot... the 100 before it doesn't matter. I'm hooked! My biggest tip... square the head and if that doesn't work... slow everything down, until it does.
