Halelujah for Decreased Traffic!
Mar 12th, 2007 by msdanielle
On the freeway, that is. I was really bummed when I woke up yesterday and realized it was daylight savings and that I’d lost an additional hour of my life while I was sleeping. However, I left the office today and it was still light out, and not that many cars were on the road. To my surprise, there was no traffic the entire way home from downtown Los Angeles to Orange County. At one point, traffic slowed down to 30mph, but soon I was back to cruising at 70 - all the way home. Normally I’m crawling on the 5 South at about 5mph. And I live 25 miles from work. I think today was the perfect traffic day! Is this because of daylight savings? Because if it is, I’d have voted for them to move it up six weeks instead of three! Did anyone else notice less traffic in other cities? I’m curious if this had a world-wide effect in less road traffic (i.e. less road rage). On the other hand, it was about 85 degrees today in LA - could just be that everyone was at the beach.

I didn’t notice. you were lucky. the 405 sucked ass this morning as usual.
i take the 405 and then the 110 and i noticed a significant difference on monday…but i just think that it was due to the twighlight zone effect
it seems to happen once every five months
cause as u can already agree upon, tues was back to: first gear, second, stop then back to first…… ;(
ya i used to drive the 405 every morning and it SUCKED. but taking the 101 south and 5 south out of downtown is usually just as bad. im crossing my fingers the drive home today will be even just 10% less heavy than normally. lol
Yay for decreased traffic! That means your less grumpy . . . hahahaha!
