Flashback Friday Volume 4
Jul 6th, 2007 by msdanielle
Some of you might have wondered where the Flashback Friday has been for a couple weeks. And some of you have no idea what I’m talking about. Either way, let’s have some fun reminiscing about when music had soul and attitude, the good kind of attitude.
Before R&B Got Hijacked
1990 was a great year for R&B and soul. I have some very fond memories of sitting next to my radio listening to Babyface, Troop, and Tony! Toni! Tone! in junior high school. What happened to the really great R&B that flooded the air waves back in the day? When tunes had soul, love songs were in, and every guy wanted to be like Barry White. When crooning about sex was still sexy and not nasty [enter Silk]. Oh how I miss a good slow jam… See if you remember these 1990 Billboard #1 hits — and like always, feel free to sing along.
Guess Who…
Let’s see if you can guess these old school cats. I’ll give hints to make it easier!
1. Part of the East Coast Family

2. He’s a sensitive kind of guy

3. He can tell you how he feels about you…

About that Zune, what timezone are you in Danielle? “You must contact me by 11:59pm tonight to be officially entered into the drawing.”
Aww, Mariah before the implants. I had such a crush on her in those days.
Boyz II Men deserve honorable mention, too — did they and En Vogue ever do one of those collaboration tracks?
(sigh) They are nothing by comparison, but I can’t think of that era without remembering Shai, Jodeci, and Color Me Badd.
Baby, I’m Yours, Baby, Baby I’m Yours…
Hey, I was 12, too.
Yeah I say Bil biv Devoe for the first one!
But I loved Boyz II Men, SHai and Color me Badd….Shai especially OMG that one video had them in no shirts the whole time!!!
Bel Biv Devoe~~ omg I am so stupid!!
