Most of the new gen cameras all have face detection, image stabilization and the like. So the choices can be confusing. But canon has the fastest operating mechanisms on the market. And the power up to shot speed as well as shot to shot are great. No missed moments. Also, the movie mode is QT native, so there is no conversion issues like with the Sony cameras. It only has a 4x zoom, and not a 5 like on the Sony, but I like the lens better, and it links up with my canon printer extremely well. If you need the megapixels, the SD880 is hard to beat, but for size and reliability, and best of all, the low low price under $200, the SD1100 is absolutely the best camera on the market.
