Damnit, It’s Begun

I knew it would happen, I knew Amazon was going to start pulling impressions from product advertisers this month, but of course it’s disappointing when you see it happening. Here’s a screen shot of my ClickRiver impressions so far this month for one particular account:

Hmmm. C’est la vie. I suppose I do see it now as an opportunity I was glad I milked. At least they were awesome enough to let us float through the holiday season, the highest volume period for my main client. Now it’s on to find the next under-the-radar system, whatever that may be… Time for me to do some homework…

I notice it as well. I notice some impressions were pretty low - damn it!

That’s just the way things stand in this field, taking advantage of things while you can is the name of the game and doing your best in order to maximize results during such period is what one should be aiming for.

Have you tried out their new Product Ads? It’s a total nightmare, and I’m still not even sure that I’m not just duplicating the efforts of our main Seller Central account. I’m not sure I understand what the difference is, other than 1 uses a product file and charges by the click instead of entering products manually and paying by the sale.

i haven’t been allowed into the product ads yet, unfortunately. the category i’ve been advertising in is pretty much blocked from their system because it’s too competitive for their business. i can’t even sell the products on their site in our own store because the category is blocked

That was my only barrier to trying this system out. I had always had some doubts as to the longevity of a program such as that. I agree that you can make it work by hoping from one great opportunity to another, and milking them while you can, but that is not in my persona. I need stability and solidarity from my revenue sources.

MS Danielle,

Although it’s just a bit off topic, can you tell me if you work as an independent or for a company?
Hope you might send me an email. I do provide PPC for one client among other services and I’m looking to do more.
Just trying to expand my contacts in new field.

Thanks.
