Blog World Expo 2008 is Coming

It’s hard to believe it’s been nine months since the first Blog World Expo and it’s almost here again. After the swell of new blogs and social activity in the “make money blogging” realm following John Chow’s earnings announcements in spring 2007, it was exciting and fun to actually meet some of the familiar faces (er…icons…?) in person and get to know some of them at the event. With the conference on the horizon again, it’s time to finalize planning and start getting ready for some fun!
The Details
September 20 – 21 in Las Vegas at the Las Vegas Convention Center. If you visit the site, you can check the list of exhibitors as well as the conference schedule. You can check out which speakers will be attending and floating around the event.
The Benefits
One of the biggest benefits of attending industry conferences is the networking. Where else will so many top bloggers and blog related service providers convene in one location? If you’re really into blogging and social networking, it really is a great place to hang out with and socialize with some like-minded people.

After missing BWE last year, I made sure that I would be attending this year. In the event anyone is interested but cannot swing the cost of the ticket, I’m still running a contest to give away a free pass to the expo that ends on Wednesday night (the 6th).
I cannot wait to meet so many of the people that I have been communicating online with for so long. Should be a great time!
All this talk of the Expo is makin’ me jealous!!! I really really want to go but I know I can’t get away at that time and also that I can’t afford the cost of travel, I’m setting my sites on either next year or the year after for sure!
Me either…Vegas is too far away from my place. Won’t be able to pay the ticket and acomodation. I’ll be glad to hear from other who attending this event.
I’m really hoping to go. Just getting past some financial troubles from my husband being laid off back in January, but his new job starts Monday and my income has improved. It’s just getting him to really understand the benefits I would get, especially since the new job will probably have him working weekends, so he won’t be able to tag along, which I think is a part of the real problem. He’s been wanting to go to Vegas.
Being 3 months pregnant right now, I’d like to make it to something before baby comes along and makes these things even more challenging. My older two can just stay with grandparents.

i hope you can make it out. it sounds like you really want to go. if anything, it might be harder to go once you have ur baby, but then again, you might be able to save some money too before BWE next year. hope you can make it!
I hope you al have a lot of fun and get some amzaing tips as well. Stephanie I would go now if I were you, after the baby comes traveling gets really difficult.

This event sounds very interesting and fun. Will you and Gary will be attending? I told Joel about this Blog convention, so hopefully I can get him to go so he can pay for the room. =)
lol you’re funny. most likely i’ll be going. coincidentally gary will be there for a bachelor party but i’m not sure how much he’ll be around the convention. i think he’s going to stop by. you should go!
I missed the chance to go last year, but I’ll be hitting up the BWE with Greg Morgan and John Chow (the Vancouver contingent!). Hope to meet the whole swath of bloggers in my Google Reader!
