12 Months, 218 Posts, and 3680 Comments Later…
Mar 8th, 2008 by msdanielle
Guess what, everyone. I’ve made it! One whole year in this thing we lovingly call the blogosphere. I can’t believe it, it went by so fast, and yet feels like a lifetime of blogging. It seems like just recently I registered my domain and tried frantically to figure out the WordPress “5 minute install.” I wrote my first blog post a few days later and lo-and-behold here I am today. I had no idea what would happen a year ago, but the past 12 months have been pretty amazing!
Thank you to everyone who has stopped by, left a comment, encouraged me, inspired me, and been a great resource for all of us. I truly appreciate this little community we have and look forward to another year…or more!
Now who wants some cake!?

Congrats on making it to the 1 year mark. Keep up the good work. And celebrate by going to one of those concerts that you’ve been wanting to go to.
Congrats on blogging for 1 year. It is good to see that you stuck it out and are doing good. I look forward to reading more of your PPC posts over this year!
It’s hard to believe that you’ve only been blogging for a year, Danielle. When I see some of the successes you’ve had and many of the things you’ve shared, it makes it feel so much longer.
Congrats on reaching 1, and we will all look forward to the next twelve months of Ms Danielle
Awesome. Well done on getting through the first year. Look forward to the next year coming.
For now celebrate and enjoy. Congrats.
Happy first birthday! Congrats!
Congrats on a year! Here’s to many more years of great PPC tips and Flashback Fridays
Congratulations Danielle! It has been an absolute pleasure reading your blog the past year. Keep up the fantastic work.
I’ve just gone through the 200 post boundry myself. Congratulations and here’s to the next 200!
Woooow! Congrats! You were making almost one blog a day. Impressive!
Congrats Ms.D 1 year strong, keep them posts coming!

I WANT CAKE!!! ALL OVER ME.. I mean. I want to eat cake.
I’m the top commentator, what’s my price?
you already got it – i don’t nofollow my top commentators
It definitely feels like more than a year, but doesn’t this put you in the top 0.1% of bloggers or something? That’s got to be worth some cake. Congratulations!
Yep, Danielle has joined the club. There aren’t too many people that can keep a site going for this long with such a loyal readership.
What’s the next milestone in the life of a blog? Five years?
it does feel like more than a year, but in the same token it’s gone by really fast. thanks guys! i wonder who else has been around for at least a year. you guys were around then
derek semmler’s blog birthday was on the same day as mine too!
Danielle, thanks for the mention and of course a big congratulations to my blog buddy! I still think it is funny that we started on the exact same day and am happy to see that we are both still going strong.
Congrats on all of your success and here is to much, much more!
can’t wait for the upcoming year!
Woww.. Thanks, did you see the $5,348 Cash and Prizes from Winning The Web contest?
Congratulations.Good work.Where is the party now.
Congratulations! My year isn’t up yet, though. Bloggers from all over the world form this ’small’ blogosphere!
>=)
yep, you’re right. it’s pretty cool when you meet at conferences and events too. i met andrew wee at ASW and he’s from singapore!
Congratulations Msdanielle on successfully completing one year. Hope you have many more successes on your way. i am new to this blog and finding it very interesting.
Happy Birthday, I’ve just started out myself and its great to see people sticking at it. I read so many posts on forums with people saying careful not to burn out. So congratualtions and may you keep blogging for a long long time.
I just jumped in the blogging wagon, I hope in a year I’ll feel proud of my blog too
Congrats and best of luck for the many years to come.
Good job! Hope to make it as long as you have. There is definitely a relation between longevity and success… my most successful sites are all 5-6 years old while the ones that fail are the ones I do for a short period of time and then give up. Keep up the good posts… I enjoy reading them.
thanks everyone. it takes a lot of persistence to not give up. my motto is, “When you don’t feel like writing, just write.” don’t give up. when you pass certain milestones it feels amazing, and it gives you a great feeling of accomplishment. good luck you guys!
Congratulations. Can I just ask how you counted the posts/comments, did you do it manually or is there a tool you used?
In WordPress there is a count on your dashboard that lists the number of posts and comments on your blog. It will be over on the right hand side, below the list of incoming links, comments and posts.
In addition, you could manually query the WP database tables to get these numbers or you could view the Comments section in the admin interface and navigate to the last page of comments, as WP maintains a running count of comments.
Hope that helps…
yes derek even wrote a great article on how you can go into your wordpress database and retrieve comment counts and such by performing a query by date – check out his blog. i keep my post and comment count displayed in my first widget box under the t’rati link. see it? i’ll email you the code. if anyone else wants it, let me know. i got it from thebeefjerkyblog blogger
Hey there Ms. Danielle, congrats for your success
Best of luck, keep going on.
Is there any cake left for me?
